THE IDEA

This gastronomic book has been published in Mallorca and offers a personal selection of the best restaurants and chefs on the island and thirty-one recipes provided by the chefs. The main ingredient in all recipes is FLOR DE SAL D’ES TRENC.

Gratitude and celebration.

LA SAL DE LA VIDA is a celebration of the union of Balearic cuisine and FLOR DE SAL D’ES TRENC. The concept was born out of our gratitude to the chefs of the island who have incorporated it as an essential ingredient in their dishes, who support this Balearic product and who masterfully present it in dishes that range from versions of traditional recipes to haute cuisine, all of which can be reproduced in our own home kitchens. The book also seeks to pay homage to a natural product, FLOR DE SAL D’ES TRENC, and aims to present the many culinary possibilities of this condiment.

THE BOOK

The 13 chefs living and working in Mallorca have got together for the first time for this gastronomic project. Nine Majorcan, three German and one British, Marc Fosh, who has been involved in the creation of the many blends of FLOR DE SAL D’ES TRENC.

They all share a love for the land and its produce, as well as for FLOR DE SAL D’ES TRENC.

The book, published in German and subsequently translated into Spanish, not only includes a modern collection of recipes of Mediterranean inspiration, with some touches of fusion cuisine, but also serves as an original gastronomic guide of Majorcan cuisine, meat, fish, vegetables, fresh produce, rice and other ingredients as a reflection of the variety of ingredients available on the island and the good cuisine of Mallorca. The best tribute to an extraordinary product and an essential book for anyone wanting to learn about current Majorcan cuisine and the gastronomic possibilities of FLOR DE SAL D’ES TRENC.
