During the mid-20th century the salt flats of Es Trenc were a hive of activity among the island’s salt producers. And the story has continued: in the present day, salt still is extracted from the same salt pans, which are fed by the clear waters of nearby Es Trenc beach and evaporated by the summer sun, forming the prized crystals of Flor de Sal.
